The spirit of fear is prevalent in our world and is not from God. This spirit creates panic, and with the many rising cases of the coronavirus, it is easy to get sucked into the vortex of fear, dread, anxiety, and even terror. Fear is powerful, and will affect your body, your mind, and your soul.
Yet in spite of this powerful spirit, when we run to Jesus, and open our hearts to receive God’s grace, He has many valuable gifts to help us overcome, and become victorious over tormenting fear. We cannot overcome fear on our own, but because Christ has given all believers the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are not alone in the struggle; the Helper is living inside our hearts to give us aid! As we personally receive and draw close to Jesus Christ’s unconditional love, we will not be as easily controlled by fear and panic. The reality and Truth of the loving words of Christ, “I will never, no never, no never’, reject, forsake, or leave you,” will take root in our hearts and minds, and push out the lies created by the ‘spirit of fear’. Knowing you are accepted and unconditionally loved by the creator of the Universe is the stabilizing factor that will push out and overcome the spirit of fear. Fear is a thief that attempts to cripple and rob you from walking by faith, in God’s love, in peace and in joy. Love is more powerful than evil and that includes fear! God has so much to give His blood bought children; the gifts of power…. love….and a calm and well-balanced mind…. discipline….and self-control. This Holy power enables you to discover liberty and freedom- not the bondage of tormenting fear. Lord Yahweh longs for His children to rest in the truth of His overcoming love and His powerful Spirit, to defeat fear and anxiety in our hearts and minds.
So, during this time of unrest, let us walk by faith, and trust in the Lord to care for each person, family, and friend affected by this virus. Remember our spirit united with God’s spirit is a powerful and positive tool to ward off illness! God uses both medicine, doctors, and the power of trusting faith to overcome and bring positive victory and health into the lives of many!
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity [of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear], but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control” (2Timothy1:7).
