Just like the leper in Matthew, many of us have seen and heard of Jesus’ mighty power to heal sicknesses. We believe He has the authority and ability to bring us wholeness, but at the same time we doubt whether He is willing to help us. Our mind begins to focus on figuring out where, when, and how Jesus may help us, as more skepticism takes over our thoughts, and our hearts plunge deeper into fear and doubt. Yet the words, “I am willing,” which Jesus spoke to the leper, still ring true today for those in need of His loving touch. Actually, one of God’s names in the Scriptures is I AM, and I AM is willing to help those in need. Sometime, because of our greater need to grow, physical healing does not come immediately, or in the way we expected. All experience can work for our good, and sometimes it takes what we would consider negative experience to help develop our spirits and soul. Jesus is always willing to meet us exactly where we are, and give us the healing we NEED (physical, emotional, or spiritual). The love Jesus has for us is enormous, and much bigger than all our fears! So,trust the process and keep turning to Jesus to restore and replenish your life, because He is willing!
“And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, ‘Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me.’ And He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I am willing: be cleansed by being cured.’ And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed” (Matthew8:2-3).
