Throughout the Old Testament, God reveals Himself as the great “I AM” to those who long to know Him. In the New Testament Jesus affirms, with love and power, a pure and simple “I AM.” Furthermore, God yearns for us to individually experience Him as “I AM” in accordance with our needs. In other words, what do you need?
Do you need a Savior, to take away your guilt and shame? “I AM.”
Do you need financial help? “I AM.”
Do you need love and understanding? “I AM.”
Do you need a friend? “I AM.”
Do you need wisdom? “I AM.”
Do you need guidance? “I AM.”
Do you need the peace that passes understanding? “I AM.”
Do you need joy? “I AM.”
Do you need someone to help carry your disappointments and sorrows? “I AM.”
Do you need a healer? “I AM.”
Whatever we lack, God desires to show up and reveal Himself by meeting us at our point of need. Our need gives Him another opportunity to reveal Himself to us. So be encouraged today because the great “I AM” wants to reveal Himself to us in the midst of our hardships!
“Fear not, Abram, I AM your Shield, your abundant compensation, and your reward shall be exceedingly great” (Genesis 15:1b).
“Jesus said to him, ‘I AM the Way and the Truth and the Life’” (John 14:6a).
