Many people believe the physical world is the only reality, and the spiritual world is not real. Yet even the biggest skeptics must realize there is a spiritual enemy in this world, that seeks to defeat God’s plans and people. Satan is the worker of darkness and creates; hate, fear, lies, gossip, defeat, negativism, jealousy, selfishness, and chaos. Fear is one of the main tactics Satan uses to thwart us from being able to rest in, rely on, and trust in God’s loving faithfulness. Fear paralyzes us and hinders us from moving forward. As we grow, and learn how to pray out our hearts to the Lord, we will find relief. However, there are times when bombarding fears are so enormous that we cannot let go of them. That’s when we must spiritually hold Jesus’ hand as He walks with us through the fear-like a good father with his little child. We must remember that God is on our side, and is for us…. not against us. God is the worker of light and creates; love, faith, truth, victory, positivity, a giving heart, peace, contentment and joy. When the enemy of our soul floods into our lives with negative power, we must remember God has not left us helpless. As we cry out for God’s help in Jesus name, He will raise up a standard and put him to flight. The enemy will be put in his place of defeat when our Lord’s Spirit rushes in like a mighty stream!
“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]” (Isaiah 60:19b).
