When we are anxious about our circumstances, and things just don’t seem to be going the way we think they should, it’s easy to feel down. In this state of anxiety, we may feel like quitting, and not pursuing the hopes and dreams God has put in our hearts. We may feel like it’s easier to quit, because we fear we will possibly be disappointed again by our circumstances. But in spite of our feelings, the truth is God loves us and cares for us more than we can comprehend. God’s ways and ours are very different; He will use good times and hard times to work out His plan to bring good into our lives. He wants what is best for us and wants to encourage, lift us up, help us, and replace our disappointments with hope and faith in Him. God has many encouraging words and promises for us in the Bible; as we take the time to seek them out , hold on to them, and believe them, our anxious thoughts will gradually be changed. God also uses people to encourage one another by listening and speaking gracious words that are positive, loving, and caring. It is God’s will to uplift our heavy hearts and make us glad. So, let’s focus on His loving grace and hold on to His ability to help us, and we will experience a gladdening change in our hearts’ for the better.
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad”(Proverbs 12:25).
