The negative force of fear will hinder us from living the purposeful, positive, and productive life that God has planned for each of us. At times we don’t recognize it is fear that motivates many of our thoughts, words, choices, and actions-or our lack of words, choices, and actions. Love is the powerful, positive force that displaces fear. It is God’s desire to bring us to a place where our thoughts, words, choices, and actions are motivated by His love within us. Love teaches that we are accepted by God unconditionally through Christ. Therefore, we don’t have to be afraid of Him. Love teaches that even when we are afraid in our circumstances, we can choose to walk past our fear toward Jesus. We can talk(pray) to Him about everything we feel and want-and in time our fears will subside. Love teaches that we can be thankful, even in hard times, because our loving God has the ability to use difficulty for our good. He knows exactly what we can endure and what we need in order to grow. As we pursue our spiritual goal, and grow in God’s love, we will experience contentment and peace, regardless of our earthly circumstances. Then the fear of living on this earth will lose its power and be replaced with love of life. The positive energy in love is more powerful than the negative energy in evil and fear. So don’t fret or be anxious about life, because we are in the hands of a God who loves us more than we can comprehend.
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition[definite request], with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”(Philippians 4:6-7).
