Fear is the negative force that Satan uses to thwart God’s plans for us to live a peaceful, purposeful, and productive life. Love is the powerful, positive force that displaces fear. It is God’s desire to bring us to a place where our thoughts, words, choices, and actions are motivated by His love not by fear. Love teaches that we are accepted by God unconditionally through Christ. Therefore, we don’t have to be afraid, He is on our side. Love teaches that even when we are afraid in our circumstances, we can choose to walk past our fear toward Jesus and talk(pray) to Him about everything we feel and need…releasing the fears. Love teaches when we are not able to get past our fears, Jesus will hold our hand(like a loving Father), and help us to step forward. Love teaches that we can be thankful, even in hard times, because our loving God has the ability to use difficulty to work out good plans for us. As we grow in a loving relationship with Jesus, we will gradually trust Him more, and experience more contentment, and peace- regardless of our earthly lot. Yes, sometimes this is a struggle, but the positive energy in love is more powerful than the negative energy in fear. So, don’t fret or be anxious about life, because we are in the hands of a God who loves us more than we can comprehend.
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition [definite request] with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
