When we encounter challenging times, we have the choice to turn to God for help or get pulled into a web of confusion. This choice sounds so simple, but to get it worked out isn’t. As we attempt to look to Jesus for release and help, Satan will fight to push us into defeat, in an attempt to break down our dependence and hope in God. One of the strategies the Enemy uses to attack God’s children is the three-strikes-and you’re-out tactic. When strike one occurs and Satan hits us with a disastrous situation. Our confession is, we are going to trust the Lord and believe Him to see us through this challenge! Strike two hits us when Satan creates additional stress. We reel from the second blow, even as we attempt to hold on to our faith and trust in God’s ability to work things out in our lives. Then the Enemy hits with strike three-a blow designed to overburden us, leaving us feeling helpless, and our faith broken. Satan wants us to embrace the belief that God must not love or care about our problems, because it seems He is not helping us in our time of hardship. The truth is that Jesus Christ has paid the price and is on our side! He offers us liberation from spiritual, physical, and emotional darkness. The good news is that God’s Spirit is with us today to release us from the lies and confusion that Satan strives deceive us with. God promises that His faithful love will bring us out of oppression and bring us to a place of recovery and deliverance. He is faithful and will see us through to victorious days ahead.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news [the Gospel} to the poor: He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed[who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity]” (Luke 4:18).
