As the corona virus continues to develop into a “world pandemic,” a deluge of change has entered into many areas of our lives. Although change is a normal part of life- we ordinarily adjust, by leaning, relying, and trusting in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to see us through, to a better place. But today the insurmountable pressure and temptation to be anxious and to worry is powerful. The tests we are facing during these dark days, seem to be creating a “fear pandemic” in the heart of many, even in the hearts of those who say they are lovers of God, and belong to Him.
Pressure in life will push you towards God or away from God. For those who continue to surrender to Christ, and are willing to humble themselves to follow Him – it is our desire that the pressures allowed to touch our lives, will be used to increase our love towards Lord Yahweh, towards others, and towards ourselves. The pressures will not destroy or defeat, but ultimately be used to enlighten the eyes of our understanding, and increase our faith and joy of Lord!
When the pressure to give into anxiety, worry, fear, hate, anger, or self-pity is great, we must remember God is on our side and He can be counted on as faithful, to His Word: “God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to hide! You’re a proven help in time of trouble; More than enough and always available whenever I need you. So we will never fear even if every structure of support were to crumble away! Everyone look! Come and see the breathtaking wonders of our God. For he brings both ruin and revival. And he’s the One who makes conflicts to end throughout the earth, breaking and burning every weapon of war. Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth. Here he stands! The Commander! The Mighty Lord of Angel-Armies is on or side! The God of Jacob fights for us!” (Psalm46tPt).
“Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to me and I will be there to rescue you. That is what I desire from you!” (Psalm50:15tPt).
