During this time of great trial, the Spiritual fight is on, and we are surrounded by battlefronts on many sides as sickness, negativism, darkness, lies, political and social unrest, and fear encroaches upon our personal lives, our families, and our national well-being. Today, God calls out His beloved ones to move forward in powerful and living faith. We must not turn back in the day of battle, remembering the weapons of our spiritual warfare are not weapons of weak and carnal flesh, but mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds(llCorinth10:4). In fact, the battle of our true faith will be tried, but in the middle of our trials, we will learn experientially to hold on, stand on the Truth of God’s Word, and open our hearts to God’s revelation of Himself, through Jesus Chris our Lord!
There are many lessons, we can learn through the triumphs and defeats of the Israelites, God’s chosen people, who traveled from Egypt to the Promise land. It is only by following God’s Ways, and Jesus is the Way (John 14:6) that we will be brought out of bondage into the Light of freedom. If in our hearts, we long to walk in God’s will and agenda and not our own- we must put on the whole amour of God, cling to Jesus, His power, His love, His sufficient grace, His promises, His faithfulness, His comfort, His strength, His covenant- while we pray, worship, and stand in awe of His Mighty and Majestic Ways!
Let’s learn from those, whose faith were defeated, and consider the path that led to their downfall. “Take for example, the sons of Ephraim; Though they were all equipped warriors, each with weapons. When the battle began, they retreated and ran away in fear. They didn’t really believe the promises of God; They simply refused to trust him and move forward in faith. They forgot his miracles from the past and wanted life to be easy, and go their way. So, they turned from faith and walked away in fear, while failing to trust in his power to help them, even when he was near. They refused to believe God could care for them, and when He did care for them, they ignored him and took him for granite. There were times they would turn back to God, but their repentance lasted only as long as they were in danger! Their worship was only flattery! “But amazingly, God-so full of compassion-still forgave them. He covered over their sins with his love, refusing to destroy them all. He knew that they were made from mere dust-frail, fragile, and short-lived” (Psalm78:38-39tPt). Over and over their rebellion limited and wounded the Holy One of Israel, from helping them move forward.
Because Ephraim turned back, God chose and promoted his beloved one, David, out of the tribe of Judah. God prepared and anointed David to lead his holy inheritance with courage, loving care, and integrity. (Psalm78: 67-72tPt).
Today, let us be encouraged to keep moving forward in our faith, by not falling away from trusting Him in the day of battle! Let’s believe in His faithfulness, to deliver us in our day of danger, by declaring and decreeing excerpts of faith and victory:
In faith, we decree and declare God’s Truth:
“In your day of danger may the Lord answer and deliver you! May the name of the God of Grace set you safely on high! May supernatural help be sent from his sanctuary! May he support you from Zion’s fortress! May he remember every gift you have given him, and celebrate every sacrifice of love you have shown him. Flags will fly when victory is yours! Yes, God will answer your prayers and we will praise him! Through his mighty hand miracles will manifest through his saving strength. Some find their strength in their weapons and wisdom, but my miracle deliverance can never be won by men. Our boast is in the Lord our God who makes us strong and gives us victory! Our enemies will not prevail; they will only collapse and perish in defeat while we will rise up, full of courage.” (Psalm20tPt).
