“Take a careful look at my servant, my chosen one. I love him dearly and I find all my delight in him. I will breathe my Spirit upon him and he will decree justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or be found yelling in public. He won’t brush aside the bruised and broken. He will be gentle with the weak and feeble, until his victory releases justice. And the fame of his name will birth hope among the people” Matthew 12: 18-21
Today Christianity has many faces and voices; some are alive and Spirit breathed- some are a mixture of Spirit, religion, and humanism- some are totally a religious show, and completely void of God’s Spirit. While on earth, Yeshua spoke out against the religious! You know the one’s who were supposed to hold the keys of the kingdom of Light, but were hypocrites and offered no hope to struggling humanity. These religious turned the Father’s house of prayer into a den of iniquity and profit- Jesus declared, this is unacceptable (Matt.21:13).
As God chasers and true followers of Christ we long to walk in His Love, Spirit, and in Truth. God’s plan is for the Holy Spirit to make the Word alive to us; enabling His children to be renewed in their hearts and in the spirit of their minds. The Holy Spirit is the Truth giving Spirit that longs to fill and give understanding, guide, and teach us how to live in this world. We are to first love the Lord with our whole heart, mind and soul, then love others as we love ourselves (Matt.26:36-40). Jesus offers love, hope, and forgiveness, to all who will His gift of Life!
God sent Jesus Christ to save us from our sin, and to reveal God’s true self nature to mankind. If we ever get confused of the way to walk, during our spiritual journey, we must always turn towards and look at Jesus’ nature and example, because He is the Way, Truth, and Life. Jesus is God, the great I AM, in the flesh!
As we gradually grow in our love relationship with Christ, and continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit, little by little we will be transformed into His likeness- He is the potter and we are the clay. On this sacred earthly journey, we will learn to free ourselves and release the burdens of judgment and wrath, so we can be nourished by the fruit of the Spirit’s love and compassion for ourselves and others. In time the Spirit will push out ignorance and intolerance, and replace it with true wisdom and understanding. All duplicity (double mindedness) and arrogance will be replaced with the fruit of integrity, honor and humility. There is much more for us to discover, as we gradually let go of the negative, and partake of the Spirit’s nourishment, on the upward path that leads towards the Light. Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world”. He is the One that gives spiritual Light to all that hunger and thirst after His goodness.
The old hymn, “O to Be like Thee”, penned by Obadiah Chisholm many years ago, expresses a heart longing for a relationship with Christ that brings growing spiritual transformation:
O to be like Thee! O to be like Thee!
Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
