So [as the result of the Messiah’s intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. Isaiah 59:19

I’m sure modern Christians would agree that the enemy has come like a flood; into our world, nation, politics, churches, schools, communities, homes, families, etc. Many believers lose their peace and struggle with fear, because of the daily chaos created by darkness. But our merciful God has not left us to fight this deadly spiritual opposition on our own. In fact, we are told that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to tear down the established strongholds of our spiritual enemy.

Scripture states, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight”. So what is a standard? The Encarta Dictionary states a standard is, “the level of quality or excellence attained by somebody or something”. Dear ones, the standard that the Spirit of God lifts up is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ! He makes us acceptable to the Father through His blood, shed on Calvary, and He arose defeating Satan. It is through Messiah’s love and power that we will attain victory!So how do we practically unite with the Spirit of the Lord? We raise our standard up—who is that standard- the Lord Jesus Christ! The King of King’s and Lord of Lord’s!

There are many ways to experience lifting up Jesus name and I will name a few:
Pleading the blood of Jesus for protection
Praising and singing unto the Lord
Prevailing, believing prayer in Jesus Name

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ do not be discouraged because of the chaos in this world, for Messiah will intervene, and He will come like a rushing stream……….His glory will be revealed!
