Jehovah, the great I AM, brought the children of Israel out of bondage, by performing many mighty and wonderous acts! He parted the Red sea, and now God’s children were headed towards the Promised Land of milk and honey. They greatly rejoiced and sang unto the Lord for His triumphant victory over their oppressive enemies! But soon, they arrived at Mount Marah where they could not drink its waters because they were bitter. Dehydrated from thirst, the people murmured against Moses, because they had no water to drink. Then Moses cried unto the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree to cast into the bitter waters, and suddenly the waters were neutralized and made sweet. God changed the bitter water into sweet water for His people. Then the Lord gave direction and spoke: follow my way, listen to my voice, and desire to obey me for I am the Lord who heals you (Exodus15:26amp). Jehovah Rapha longed to heal bitterness in the hearts of these complaining children, while replacing it with the sweetness of moving forward in trusting safety and contentment through Him. It was His desire for them to walk in healing, and not experience any of the diseases that had come upon the Egyptians.
Next, through the ups and downs of David’s emotional and challenging life, he continued to turn to God for help and healing, during his times of need. He said, “I was panic-stricken and became so depressed. Still I cried out to you, Lord God, I shouted out for mercy”. He declared in faith, “Weeping may endure for a night but joy will come in the morning! “Many times, King David pressed into and experienced the healing touch of Jehovah Rapha as he declared: “O Lord, my healing God, I cried out for a miracle and you healed me! You brought me back from the brink of death, from the depths below. Now here I am, alive and well, fully restored! (Psalm30:2tPt).
Then, in the new Covenant, God’s marvelous grace manifested through the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, who bought eternal salvation, to all who will believe and receive God’s greatest gift! Our great God and Savior, Jesus the Anointed One sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom and bring spiritual, emotional, and physical healing to His children! Then the Holy Spirit came to abide within us, and make us passionate followers, who long to follow and please our Lord “When the extraordinary compassion of God our Savior and his overpowering love suddenly appeared in person, as the brightness of a dawning day, he came to save us. Not because of any virtuous deed that we have done but only because of his extravagant mercy. He saved us, resurrecting us through the washing of rebirth. We are made completely new by the Holy Spirit, whom he splashed over us richly by Jesus, the Messiah, our Life Giver. So as a gift of his love, and since we are faultless-innocent before his face-we can now become heirs of all things, all because of an overflowing hope of eternal life. How true and faithful is this message! (Titus3:4-8tPt).
As God lovers and followers of Jesus Christ, we are now joint heirs with Christ. Satan does not want God’s children to receive this or learn to walk in our rich inheritance, so he works hard to deceive believers, by challenging the Truth of God’s Word. Yet this is our God given inheritance, “Surely, He has borne our griefs, sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses and carried our sorrows and fear of pain and punishment. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement, peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes that wounded Him we are healed and made whole (Isaiah53amp). If you are struggling with being an overcomer in this life, and there are many circumstances that challenge the Truth of your God given inheritance; Will you embrace the Truth of God’s Word and stand on the promises? Will you clothe yourself with the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground against the Enemy? (Eph6) Will you begin to practice releasing negativity and putting your grief, sickness, weakness, distresses, and the fear of pain and punishment onto the Savior today? This type of releasing prayer, frees you up and makes room for Jehovah Rapha to bring healing, peace, and rest into every area of your broken life, heart, and soul. By faith, let us hold on to our rich inheritance and become full benefactors of all that Jehovah-Rapha has given the children of God.
