Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!
Time and again in everyday life we are bombarded with negative, anxious thoughts that attempt to send us into a spiral of restlessness and fear. Furthermore there are so many things to feel anxious about in this world: children, family members, friends, enemies, finances, health issues, school, college, jobs, finding the right mate, making decisions, meeting deadlines, natural disasters, staying safe and the list can go on and on. As God’s children the only positive thing about anxiety is that it causes us to look to Him in a bigger way to find relief and answers to our dilemmas. God does not send us anxiety but He will use anxiety to get us to come to Him and grow in faith because he that comes to God must believe that He is real. When we feel anxious and cannot find relief we are more motivated to come to God and we recognize more genuinely how desperately we need Him. In other words He will use the pain of anxiety which is sent from the enemy to create more bigger love between Him and His children. What Satan means for evil; God will turn around and use for good. It is not God’s will for us to stay in a state of anxiety but He longs to transport us to a spiritual place where we can be consoled, soothed and comforted by the knowledge and reality of His steadfast faithfulness and unconditional love. There is no delight on earth that can compare with the comfort of God’s love and the joyfulness, enjoyment, happiness and pleasure He has for us which will cheer and delight our soul!
