The antichrist spirit is prevalent and common in our world today. The goal of this spirit is to tear down and ridicule, to present God’s love and sacrificial atonement as phony and unnecessary, and to portray Jesus Christ as a religious, condemning, narrow-minded figure who is out-of-step with the needs of mankind. However, the accusations of that spirit of antichrist could not be further from the truth. The truth is that God loves and cherishes the people of the world so much that Jesus Christ came down in the form of a baby and grew into a man in order to fulfill the requirement for sinless flesh and blood to pay for mankind’s sin. He offers us unending life with Him! Jesus Christ did not come into the world to critique, discard, refuse, condemn, or reject anyone. He came to offer deliverance, recovery, and escape from spiritual death. He came so that through a relationship with Him we can be eternally secure and safe. Jesus tenderly calls us to come to Him, as He offers us wholeness and completeness in this life and in the life to come.
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten [unique] Son, so that whoever believes in [trusts in, clings to ,relies on] Him shall not perish [come to destruction, be lost] but have eternal [everlasting] life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge [to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on] the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him” (John3:16-17).
