Pressing On in 2021
We begin 2021 at a precarious place! The days ahead seem uncertain, and some feel insecure and afraid because of these unprecedented and challenging times; But we need not fear, while God is still on the throne- moving forward and fighting for righteousness, humility, and Truth.
So how do we practically work on pressing forward? As believers and lovers of God, we long to surrender every area of our lives to Jesus Christ! In Colossians 3:23amp. we are told, “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men”. Not just in ministry work, not just in family, but in every task and function we yearn to be motivated by the deep longings God puts within our hearts to love and serve Him. Through the enjoyable and unenjoyable times, through the easy and hard times, through our weakness and by His strength, through doubts and through believing faith, through weariness and through a fresh anointing, we continue to press on into Jesus, in order to glorify God through our many life roles. We believe our every step is ordered by the Lord, and He will lead us towards our God given destiny! God is doing a work in your life, and surrender, trust, grace, and mercy will keep us pressing on into His will and ways.
Paul proclaimed to the church in Corinth that they must hold and continue pressing on and engaging in Truth and Light, by the mercy of God, who had granted them favor, benefits, opportunities, and especially salvation! He said, we will not quit or faint with weariness, or be discouraged and despondent with fear(2Corinth4:1). Our adversary, Satan will put up a fight to defeat the God ordained plans and purposes in our lives and world. But Satan is a defeated foe, and we must keep clinging and returning to the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and the powerful Truth of the Logos Word of God.
We are common clay jars who carry a glorious treasure of Light, as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ. “Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out” (2Corinth8-9tPt).
“So, no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. We view our short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison.” (2Corinth4:16-17tPt).
Therefore, we will press on and wrap God’s grace around our heart! We will keep the faith and finish our course, and a glorious eternal crown will be prepared for each of us, who depend on and love the Lord our God, with our whole heart, soul, and mind. Then He will pour out even more of His love on you, and more of His salvation will unfold for you!
Because He lives, we can face tomorrow! The joy of the Lord is our strength!
