Worry is Negative Meditation
Philippians 4:6-7
Do Not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
The consequence of our mind and heart staying engaged in fret and worry generates negative meditation. Negativity is a dark deceptive place that goes against the light and truth that Christ desires to tell our hearts. Fret and worry never helps solve anything but actually hinders us from finding a solution to the issue that sets up our anxiety. The first step in overcoming the bondage of worry is to humble ourselves with a receptive spirit as we acknowledge we can’t make it by ourselves and we need God to help because He is wisdom. Next we learn to talk it out with Jesus which means He wants us to tell Him how we feel, bring our request to Him and as we process out our negativity the weight of worry will be released – He will take it. He does not desire to punish us for mistakes because He has already taken the punishment for our shortcomings. Christ desires to facilitate bigger faith for us in Him (knowing Him progressively more and more) which in time will bring us continual peace and rest. As we continue through the process of life this awesome peace from God will enable us to rise above all negativity while it creates optimistic meditation and a positive outlook on life.
